Huxly is a new brand strategy and innovation consultancy, launched in April 2018. We believe that people are complex, and great brands are simple. We are changing the way our clients build brands, with a range of innovative approaches to help our clients to understand the true complexity of their consumers. For example, our innovation teams work with sensory scientists to gain unprecedented insight into consumers’ product expectations, allowing us to develop rounded and coherent propositions for food, drink and personal care categories. The Huxly ‘pitch’ has been highly successful in 2018, leading to project wins and highly satisfied clients, and we now have big growth plans for 2019.

The Role: Associate Director – Branding and Innovation

We are looking for an experienced brand strategist and innovation consultant who can lead branding, innovation and communications development projects with a group of clients. This role will be instrumental in the next stage of Huxly’s growth, and represents a great chance to be at the heart of a growing business.

The successful candidate will own a group of major clients, building relationships through high quality project work and the sharing of inspiring content.

Requirements

Specific accountabilities will include:

1. Building relationships with target clients to increase our profile within the organization, and creating a global network of contacts who support Huxly.

2. Designing superb proposals, and delivering inspiring, unforgettable projects that make our clients come back to us for more work. Projects will be delivered alongside and with the support of:

a. Our qualitative team, who provide project management support and moderators around the world

b. Our sensory qual team, who provide sensory science support when making recommendations on food and drink innovation and positioning.

c. Our design team (internal and freelance) who help us make sure that project outputs are visually stunning

d. Ideal Insight, our in house videography team, who create videos to summarise project learnings and bring concepts to life.

3. Working with our new business communications team to ensure our content is sent out in a timely manner, to the right people in the accounts you lead.

Based in the Wallingford office, our geographical scope will be the UK, Europe and the USA. We will be building a separate team based in Singapore to handle APAC, but there will be some opportunities to support that team as the business grows.

Essential Skills/Qualities

Proven experience of leading, designing and delivering brand positioning, innovation and communications development projects

The ability to work collaboratively with teams who have different skill sets and are from different cultures

Passion for and experience in FMCG research

Excellence in proposal writing, research design and pitching

Advanced skills in client management, account development

Moderation of fieldwork (groups, depths, workshops, MROCs, etc.)

Experience of leading teams

Observation of overseas fieldwork

Report writing / delivery of presentations

Articulate/expressive/credible/easy to work with

Desirable Skills / Qualities

‘Smarts’ – the ability to wow your clients with incisive thinking

An ability to command an audience and present confidently in front of clients

Ability to travel internationally
